Indiana State Teachers' Retirement System

Indiana State Teachers' Retirement System (ISTRS) is a multiple-employer defined-benefit public pension fund based in Indianapolis, Indiana. Established in 1921, the Indiana General Assembly created the pension plan as a pay-as-you-go defined benefit retirement system to provide pension, death, and disability benefits to its members and their beneficiaries. The assets of the pension fund are managed by the Indiana Public Retirement System.
