Kedge Capital is a Jersey-headquartered alternative-investment-management group that specialises in hedge funds, funds of hedge funds, and private-equity investments, established in 2001 to 2002 by Swiss-Italian billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli (former CEO of biopharmaceutical group Serono, sold 2006) together with former GAM chief executive Denis Mirlesse, primarily to manage the Bertarelli family's own capital alongside select ultra-wealthy third-party investors. The firm operates as part of the Bertarelli family's broader integrated wealth-management platform B-Flexion (headquartered in Geneva, with offices in London, Jersey, Boston, and Dublin), which also oversees private-equity-for-life-sciences vehicle Ares Life Sciences, UK real-estate fund Crosstree, technology fund Forestay Capital, and holdings in asset managers Longview Partners, Capital Four, Landfair Capital, and Twelve Securis. Kedge Capital focuses on risk-controlled investing with emphasis on steady long-term returns and solid downside risk control, reportedly manages more than USD 9 billion in assets, and became a UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) signatory in 2022. In 2022 the firm sought to raise more than USD 1 billion of additional capital from other ultra-wealthy families to scale its externally-oriented asset-management franchise.
