The Westly Group is a clean-technology focused venture capital firm founded in 2007 and based in Menlo Park, California. The firm invests in smart energy, mobility, buildings, industry 4.0, and cybersecurity companies, primarily at the growth stage, and has raised five venture funds with approximately USD 825 million in assets under management. The Westly Group was founded by Managing Partner Steve Westly, former California State Controller and previously Senior Vice President of Marketing, Business Development, M&A, and International at eBay, and is backed by a roster of strategic corporate investors that includes Duke Energy, VW/Audi, State Farm, Bridgestone, ABB, and American Electric Power. The firm's portfolio includes Tesla (on which Westly served as a board member), SentinelOne, Procore, Luminar, RapidSOS, WeaveGrid, and Circulor, and it was listed 79th on Time Magazine's 2025 America's Top Venture Capital Firms ranking.
