Eric Schurr

Eric Schurr serves as Chief Strategy Officer, National Products at Sunrise Community Banks. He has more than 25 years of experience in the software industry, as a leader in product strategy, branding and innovation with companies ranging from startups such as SQA and Gomez to leading global enterprises including IBM, Rational Software, Compuware and Cognos. He was chief marketing officer for the world's 23rd largest software company, Rational Software, which was acquired by IBM. While at Rational, Schurr also founded and ran the business unit that produced a milestone product line that within 18 months generated more than one-third of Rational's new-product revenue. At SQA, he drove the company's product and marketing strategy and was a key member of the executive team that took the company public. Previously Schurr was an executive in residence at Greylock Partners and served on the board of Active EndPoints, a startup focused on building leading software in the BPEL market. He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and English composition from Depauw University in Greencastle, Ind.
