Walter Hirzebruch

Walter joined Mezzanine Partners (now called Ethos Mezzanine Partners) in 2006 as a Partner. He has extensive experience across the private equity value chain and has been involved in deal sourcing, execution, restructuring, monitoring and disposals. Prior to joining Mezzanine Partners, Walter was a Director of Brait South Africa and Brait Private Equity, with senior responsibility for investments in packaging, consumer and retail products. Prior to joining Brait in 1995, he worked for FirstCorp Capital Investors (the predecessor to Ethos Private Equity) doing management and leveraged buyout transactions and managing a portfolio of investee companies. Walter has served as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of numerous private equity sponsor-owned businesses, including: Astrapak, Bayport, RTT, and Shoe City. Walter received a B.Com and CTA from the University of Cape Town and qualified as a chartered accountant whilst at KPMG.
